30 Days of Focus Can Change Your LifeEach week I'm sending you a side hustle idea, stories of entrepreneurs who’ve executed successfully, and resources to learn how to do the same |
THIS WEEK'S THOUGHT: I posted a thread on Twitter that generated more than 47,000 impressions. The next tweet I sent? 63... that's not a typo. Sixty-three. 🥴 So, what did I do? Posted again. And again. This is a metaphor for life. It's nothing but a roller coaster. For every win there's a loss. It's this seesaw between the good and the bad that makes it interesting. Over the years working with founders, creators, makers, doers, and everything in between, I can tell you with absolute certainty that the people who are consistently attacking the future they want always find interesting things happen to for them. Consistency is a super power. And if you want to tackle your life like Superman, then don’t ask what you can be consistent with in the best of times. Ask yourself what you can consistently do in the worst of times. It’s the ‘single pushup’ approach. Rather than saying you’re going to work out every single day for an hour and get in the best shape of your life, say that you’re going to do one pushup every morning. The former offers the opportunity to slip up over and again. The latter? Who the hell can’t commit to one pushup a day? You can squeeze this in at any moment throughout the day. Then one pushup typically becomes five and then ten and then, before you know it, you’re eventually working out every day for an hour and getting into the best shape of your life. My challenge to you is to write down what you want long-term and then figure out what the “single pushup” is for that. Start today. As always, I'm sharing my thoughts as a way to help you. If it helps you, it could help someone else. So before diving into this week’s side hustle idea (below) feel free to share:
SIDE HUSTLE IDEA: Become a Zapier Expert There are more than 2.2 Million businesses that use Zapier to connect their tech stack. If you're not familiar with Zapier or No-Code development, then that sentence is, likely, a lot like a drunken night at Mardi Gras... Both a) overwhelming and b) confusing. Let's break it down really quickly. Historically, to build and launch products, you'd need to be a developer (or know how to code). No-code solutions allow you to build a product, put it online, test quickly, and iterate on the fly. This has shifted the timeline of being able to build an online product from months to hours. Zapier comes into play by allowing each of a company's tools to "talk" to one another without knowing how to write code. Let’s say you're a local HVAC shop trying to sell AC compressors against a company like Home Depot. This automation can mean a world of difference for your ability to compete. For example, when someone's in the market for burner replacement in their furnace, then you can use Zapier to connect the Facebook or Google lead forms to automatically put names into your team's call queue and your email service provider. Or if you've just made a sell on your website, you can automatically connect your payment processor to your Quickbooks to generate receipts and keep your accounting together. These automations are time and money savers. The two most important ingredients in any business's life. There are over 33M+ small businesses in the US that are looking for ways to better automate. Each with a need that can be solved through Zapier. There's an opportunity waiting for you here. Andrew Davison was able to use his Zapier skills to build a small agency, Luhhu, that's earning him $6500/mo.
Troy Tessalone is Zapier's top ranked contributor on their forum. This probably explains how, as a solo freelancer, he's consistently booked months in advance and earning 6-figures a year.
Michael Dallas-Petersen was an entrepreneur who's been building on the side of his tire salesman for years. He eventually doubled-down on learning automations and was able to build his Zapier agency to more than $100K each month.

30 Days of Focus Can Change Your Life Each week I'm sending you a side hustle idea, stories of entrepreneurs who’ve executed successfully, and resources to learn how to do the same THIS WEEK'S THOUGHTS: Stuck... like a hair in a biscuit. We've all been there. This feeling that the situation behind us is the situation in front of us. We're stuck. Nothing's gonna change, so we might as well accept it and brace for impact. Horseshit. That's total and utter horseshit. (side note: I've just reread...

He’s applied to 13 schools. 13!! When I was going to university, I applied to two. I knew I was going to go to the same state school my parents went to, but applied to one additional school in case...
30 Days of Focus Can Change Your Life Each week I'm sending you a side hustle idea, stories of entrepreneurs who’ve executed successfully, and resources to learn how to do the same THIS WEEK'S THOUGHTS: Black Friday means discounts! At least as consumers that's what we think. However, if you're offering a product, service, or experience, that means you're no longer the consumer and, instead, the business. So you should be thinking profits! And, as an entrepreneur, here's something you should...
